Water Damage

Water Damage, Moisture and Drying

Unfortunately, a burst pipe, fire extinguishment, a leaking roof or any water flooding inside your home or property can cause enormous damage and upset. Sometimes, you can dry the building out in a few days or weeks. This can, in some severe cases, take months, especially if the right equipment is not installed. Other factors that can have a significant impact are the different types of water, i.e., some being more hazardous than others.

Water can travel all over the house, running via voids, cable routes, and pipe routes under the flooring; in turn, moisture may penetrate the building fabric or be trapped in wall and floor cavities and voids. Removing some fixtures and fittings (e.g. skirting boards, plaster board) may be necessary to aid the drying programme.

Your qualified Lite Response Technician will perform a detailed assessment of the damage to determine what’s needed to prevent secondary damage and return you to normal as quickly as possible. We may need to install a range and combination of drying systems and equipment (e.g. Water Extraction, Fans/Air movers, Dehumidifiers and Heaters) to dry your property back to its pre-incident condition.

We will monitor the drying progress throughout the drying process, checking if, more or less, a different method is required to maximise the results. At the end of the drying programme, we will issue specific documentation to you and the relevant parties, certifying the drying process has been completed.
